I have a 67 coupe with the early style column. the upper collar rotates slightly when you turn the wheel so I pulled the steering wheel and turn signal switch to see what was happening. the collar just slipped right off the column. the nuts at the top and bottom where tightened down but doing nothing to hold the collar on the column as it is just a square-headed bolt with a nut. Shouldn't there be some kind of anchoring tab that goes behind these bolts into the slots on the top and bottom of the column? I can't find any pictures of a disassembled collar to compare. Any help is appreciated.
