any one ever replace the Rack actuator gear in the column?

I think mine broke.. The car will not shutoff with the key. The ignition is stuck in the on position while the key cylinder is in the off position. I bought a new key cylinder but that did not fix it.

From searching on here i found the rack actuator gear break can cause this.. anyone have the same problem?

This happened to me a couple of weaks ago. Theres a small pin that is on the end of a plastic rod that moves a block that moves the ignition switch part way down the steering colunm. Mine pin some how worked its way out of the end of that plastic rod luckly I found it laying inside the colunm. I got to it by taken the steering colunm apart were it tilts at.
The way I figured it had to be something inside the steering colunm was, I took off the ignition switch part way down the colunm and was able to move that block with a small screwdriver.

Good Luck
