a better way??
the stock way will work fine if whoever did it, did it right.
if you use the shims that were in it, it may be to loose, depending on if anyone had been in there for anything else (ring/pinion).
i built mine to 'stock' specs, meaning how i assembled the clutches to the steels (splined plates).
i also use a BFG drag radial, and anytime going straight, if i have a loss in traction, there is both tires spinning, everytime.
the stock 'traction lock' shuold last for a little while wouldn't you think? some people still have a decent one after 10 years and 100k miles.
probably some idiot rebuilt it, and did somthing wrong.
BESIDES--- you should'nt be spinnin' with BFG drag radials unless you're talking about being on the street, they should hook for ya.
unless you're talking bout when you burnout before you race?
