IIRC for the rears, they're the same from 83-93, so those should work.

Window motors are simple. Run fused power and ground to a given motor and see what it does. If it wont work, reverse the wires and see if it works in the opposite direction.

If no go, remove the motor (see all safety precautions and all that) and bench test them. If they work now, Jason's idea about the motor or transmission (gears and races in the motor) being weak or bad is a good one.

Good luck.

You have to have both switches and complete wiring installed for the window to work.

If you follow the wiring diagram, such as at Autozone.com, you will see that the switches switch both power and ground. In the off postition, neither is connected.

Its done this way because you have to change both the power and ground when changing from up to down.

On two doors, Ford runs power to the drivers window through the pass door switch, I think.

These are very annoying to me to troubleshoot. The easiest way is with the motor out of the door and connected so that you can get a meter on the wires. Sounds like you have a switch problem.

ok, whent to the junk yard and got a complete driver side harness and compared the two and find the ground i could not find, it had been cut and tucked, anyway i got the window motors to work, sounded crazy, first time they moved in like 4 years....eek, any way, i've found that it is true the ground is ran through the driver side and the drivers side is a must for everything eles, the passenger side is not, it just controlls the passenger side window and allows it to be hooked up. Now i just need to remove the manual window stuff and install the motors and find a way to make the switches look good, any ideas
