Stock Gears for an 02 GT

What gears came stock in 2002 GT's, were there optional gear choices as well?

Im really not switching gears until like next summer or on, but the Ford mechanic ("Senior Master Technician") that did my last 98GT>4.10 swap said that i wont really want to do gears in the 02GT because:
"2002 GTs came stock with 3.73 gears"

And thats where i said "ok" and left...but was thinking the whole time. Because Ford JUST switched to 3.55s with the new 05 GTs.
Anyway...so just want to know what gears the 02GTs have. I have a 5spd by the way.

Should have 3.27s stock in a GT. I think the machs and cobras might come with 3.55s

all 99 to 04 gt's came with 3:27's. He is wrong. The mach and 03 and 04 cobra came with 3:55's.

There was no option either.

I don't think the 05's are going to be coming standard with 3.55's either. I think the were going to but it got changed.They might be optional. I'll ask around here at work. I know for sure that they will be getting 31 spline axle shafts though.

The v-6's will be getting an 8.8 with 28 splines.

And thank for the replies guys, i was already 90% sure it was 3.27 gears in the 02 GT But thanks for confirming.

That's what I was told. I work at the axle plant. I'll find out for sure.
Also, no more 7.5" rear for the v-6's. 8.8's with 28 splines and 3.27's.

Thats cool. I didn't even know the V6's had 7.5" rears. I NEVER research anything about the v6's Good to know now though.
