Stock hood, glass?

A buddy got in an accident with his 2000 v6... are the hoods on these newer stangs fiberglass, because his busted hood looks to be?

I've been told they are fiberglass. I'm a cop and have worked a few crashes involving Mustangs with front end damage. I've seen both steel and fiberglass. My guess is that the steel hoods might be an aftermarket alternative to stock

Ford calls it a "composite material" I believe, which I think is fancy talk for fiberglass/plastic.

GM calls it SMC I believe, sheet molded compound, thats waht vettes have been made out of for a while
