Strange starting problem

I have a 1990 lx and I couldn't get it to start so I decided to try replacing the starter solenoid (it was bad anyways and one of the poles was snapped off) and see if that was the problem. Well having said that, I followed both the instructions which came with it and the manual and went to start it and now it keeps turning over with out stopping...regardless of if the key is in the ignition or not. Please help!

you wired something wrong or the solenoid got stuck. Try whacking it with a screwdriver handle and see if it shuts off.

yeah, i disconnected it, then re connected it following the direction exactly and it does the same thing....any other opinions?

I tried reconnecting the battery and it does the same thing, keeps trying to start with out the key in the ignition. When I whacked the solenoid a few times it stopped...then I tried it again and it got stuck again...wtf?

Bad ground? Might want to check that out.

replace the solenoid it sounds like a defective one.

ok, im going to switch the one I got tomorrow and see how that works out.
