Hey Y'all, greetings from Alabama! I purchased a used 03 Centennial Edition Convertible that someone had added some aftermarket "C" stripes to. The look is kind of growing on me because I had just sold my 68 convertible that had factory option "C" stripes. I am contemplating removing the stripes because I want to keep the originality of the limited edition car (only 1323 produced). What is recommended for removal without harming the paint? I would also like comments on whether I should keep the stripes or lose them.

If they are vinal, you can heat them up and peel them off. Painted on stripes, I have used many different chemicals to remove them, but only on cars that I was ready to paint. I have never used chemicals on a good panel. I mainly use lacquer thinner which dulls up the paint, but it can be reubbed out. It has never harmed paint on cars that I have used it on, but I know others will tell you different.
