So I ordered a new 2007 Satin Silver GT about 9 weeks ago. It finally arrived yesterday and the racing stripes that I ordered aren't on it. The dealer said that they would install any color/pattern stripes I wanted. I can only assume that they will only install Ford OEM stripes. What kind of stripes are available and what color do you guys think would look best? BTW...I got the Red leather interior. Thanx for your input!!

Great color choice since it's the same as mine. Mine is plain as everyone has stripes but I'm always torn between the two.

No idea what Ford offer but if you want stripes, I'd try either a slightly darker silver for a subtle look or a gunmetal for the more classic look. I think black is not a good choice because of the red interior and red stripes are a no-no. For that reason, stripes from the same color family as the silver would be best IMHO.

As for format, I'd stick with the classical twin stripes - some of these patterns are just trying too hard to be different. The side stripes seem to visually lower the car which is always a good thing.

I agree. The dark silver or gunmetal would look great. Very classy. Not too bold. Sometimes less is more.

I have the red interior with a Torch Red and love it. We need our own group, the Crimson Red interior group.
My initial thought was red stripes. Maybe it would be too much. Would be nice to play around with a photo or something and see what you like best.

Thanks for your input guys...I really like the idea of a gunmetal color stripe. I just picked up the car from the dealer and he said I could get the GT500 striping at no charge...Any color I want. I'll let them know in a couple days. I took some picture as soon as I pulled in the drive. 10 minutes later, I already had the Foose rims and Nitto tires on it. More pics to come. It was dark by the time I finished. Can't wait to roll!!!

honestly!!! leave it plain...stripes came on certain models back in the early days! stripes are like spandex just because they make them doesn't mean everybody could wear them...keep the tradition alive!!!!

your foose wheels are they 20's?

Go with the Shinoda stripe kit if they will do it or don't do the stripes at all, the kits i've seen aren't true stripe kits at all. They start at the hood not the front splitter and stop at the third tail light not the year splitter. Shinoda takes those problems away. But then again, i hate stripes on a car that isn't on a track!!!(or a viper)

if they use the GT500 stripes, they do cover the bumper covers, all the way to each splitter. but i would go with a light gray color, or darker silver. we have the silver with Crimson Red interior, and we used matte black outlined in red for our "foose" type stripes...

I called the dealer and told them to put on the GT500 Gunmetal stripes. I gave them a picture and showed them exaxtly how I want them to look. I told them I wanted them to cover the bumpers all the way down to the splitter. Check out http://www.bobwhitedecals.com/. Hope it turns out awesome!

I'd love to see photos of the black stripes with the red edging. Could you post please?

Thanks. Looks good. I have a torch red with the red interior. I was thinking about some black stripes. I wonder how it would look to somehow incorporate red into them??
