iv got a squeak coming from my drivers strut mount i bought new mount installed it and squeak went away for 3 days then started again i took apart n checked i had a lil bit of rubber chowder where metal bushing meats the big bottom rubber piece i re installed and tried it again squeak went away for the weekend then i tok apart both sides and mixed up part of the mount with the pass side as well and squeak went away for a few days now its back how do i cure this problem its driving me up the damn wall it nmakes me hate driving my car!!!

maybe i did something wrong ?? i droped down strut put new mounts back in same place as old mount stuck strut thru the tower put on and tightened bottom 2 bolts then started nut on top of strut with bishing in place then droped car down tightened nut with a 100ft pund torque stick that i had and shiped it out interestingly enuf if i tighten or loosen top nut the squeak will dissapear for a day or 2 as well

Is the metal around the strut tower boss burred up? I dont know why you're seeing 'clowder' (rubber debris, I assume) otherwise.

Are you getting the top strut mount nut tight enough (so there's not lateral movement with the bushing)? I'm not sure where you're using 100 ft-lbs for torquing but I think that top strut nut's spec is WAY less than that. I probably misunderstood you regarding that.

Good luck.

If you can, provide a source and page # for that spec - I'd like to be corrected if I'm wrong. I've never come close to applying near that torque to that top-strut-mount fastener. It would be tough since you're compressing rubber.

Good luck.
