When I bought these cobra r wheels, THey came with lugnuts .. Yesterday when removing the wheel I noticed 2 of the lugnuts were very tough to remove. By the time I got them off, they were super hot and stripped out. I had to replace the wheel studs and get 2 new lug nuts (almost $5 each at the ripoff parts store) So tonight I took the wheels off again to replace my brake clip, and on the left side one started to strip out, only this time it wouldn't come off. I was able to pull the wheel out just enough to see the stud, I figured this was spinning and thats why the lug nut wouldnt come off.. So I tack welded the stud to the rotor. When I went to take the lug nut off it just spins.. SOmehow the stupid thing is spinning and not coming off.. Now I need a new rotor prob, and still cant get the wheel off.. I could almost get a air cut off saw back there, but it would need about a 6 inch circular blade to cut off the wheel stud.. I am upset..

another thing the lugnuts are so deep in the rim, you cant get on them with anything but a socket...

same thing happened to me :bang: ...i finally got fed up after replacing a couple studs and the front passenger wheel hub! I bought a set of gorilla lug nuts off of summit and hopefully i don't have any more problems!!

try a hack saw. :nice:

Ive had to replace 3 in the back:mad: . luckly I was working on the rear end at the time and removed the axles.

If I where you I would buy a whole new set from summit or jegs. but make sure you dont get cheap ones like at the parts store.

Also how do you put your lugs on (by hand or with impact)???????????????

had the same thing happen before, take all the lugnuts you can off and pull on the rim as you unthread it... if that fails try an impact...

use anti-seize in the future:nice:

lol thats the lugs I had the problem with

i use gorrilla nuts on every vehicle i use they are by far the best nuts i have never had a problem ... if you thread it on by hand till it gets tight i see no reason it can strip ... i have had guys at the tire place think they are a nascar pit crew and start them with the impacts i then had to replace 3 studs after that ****

I have been starting them by hand and then use the impact.. I cut the stud off today with a 4 inch blade on my cut off saw.. the lug nuts outer was spinning but not the part with threads on it.. I did find out my wheel bearing was bad while I was doing all that, so I bought a new one and now have 5 new wheel studs to work with
