Can anyone explain to me how the IAC vavle on the newer SOHC and DOHC motors work. Now before you think I am a complete idiot, I understand the way they work on our cars, as they let a determined amount of air pass around the TB blade. Where I am confused is on the newer motors the IAC is mounted to the plenum (which is past the TB blade). With that being said, I don't understand where the air to be bled into the intake is coming from. Am I way off base?
Next question is can I make one of the newer style TBs (03-04 cobra or other oval TBs) work on my car? I know it won't bolt up, but if I fab a new TB mounting flange to the intake, can I make the electronics and TB cable work on my car? Am I wrong in thinking that if the TPS on these newer TB are a 5v range, then the computer should be able to read correctly once it is wired correctly?
I know this is 5.0 section, but you guys know me here, which is not the case in the newer sections of this site, so I figured you guys would help me out.
As usual I am up to something custom that I won't disclose of right now until I can figure out how this stuff works for my application. If I decide that I can make this newer stuff work I will let you in on what I might be doing this winter to the car.
