Subframe connector questions

I know welding is better, but if I get weld in subframe connectors, does the carpet and underlayment have to come out so they don't get too hot and melt/catch on fire?

I was looking at the Maier SFCs which are a lot more $$$ than my next choice which would be the Global West ones. I couldn't find any where that says if the Maier ones were weld in or bolt in type. With the multiple mount points, it seems bolting them in would be as good or better than the regular type weleded in.

I really don't want to have to take all the interior out.

Anyone know, have the Maier SFCs, pics? Thanks.

that depends on if you are going to weld the connectors to the floor pan or not. if not then you need not worry about the carpet and stuff. just remember to have the welder do an inch at a time, and change location as he welds.

do not weld them in with the interior in it. It most likely will catch on fire, even if you do it an inch at a time. even when we weld in SFC's at the shop with no interior we have a blow gun and exstinguisher ready because the insides of frame rails have a nifty way of catching on fire. do it right or not at all.
