i was told that the best way to install full length subframe connectors was to strip out the interior of the car and weld them from the inside as opposed to the outside, under the car. I heard it will make the car more stiff by welding from the inside. Anyone ever heard of this, or does anyone have this done to their car?

I've heard of stripping the carpet and welding the rollcage to the same place the subframes are but how do you weld from the opposite side of the floorpan?

that would defeat the purpose of sub frame connectors. seeing as that way would just sit the above and not connected to the two frames. maybe they were talking about when you cut into the rear part of the car to get the sub frame connectors the match better with the rear frame.......

there is a beam that goes on the inside, but that's hardcore and i doubt you would have to do that setup!

look at the picture on the bottom left of this page, they install subs this way. I would only do this on a full out race application.

No technical reason for installing sub frames that way. Mine were installed from underneath with all the carpet in. Mine work great!

One more question.. what does it cost to have full length subframes welded on, either the regular way or the hardcore way?

hardcore way is a lot more expensive considering you're taking the interior out and the welds have to be solid

under the car i've been quoted as cheap as $80 and as expensive as $320...

80 being midas
320 being mustang shop
