Does anyone ever seem to hear this type of thing on certain songs. Occasionaly my subs will sound like the dont hit "fast" enough to keep up with the music. Its almost like they arent quite in snch with the rest of the music????Is it just that I dont have the most perfect subs and box in the world or can that problem be fixed easily?

Im about to put lots of fatmat in my trunk soon also. Perhaps some improvement there?

Do you have a ported or bandpassed box? The tightest response is going to come from a sealed enclosure--and even then if your box is too big..it could sound muddy....

Im pretty sure the box is just about right. It is a well sealed square box. There are the two MTX thunder 8000 10's in it. They also dont have common airspace. Each sub is in its own enclosure. The enclosures are right at 1 cubic foot each which is what MTX reccommends for a sealed application. It should be tight as hell. Usually it is. It just dosent sound quite right on certain music...?

it could just be the music....or it could be the amp cannot keep up with dynamic bass line.....

Is your charging system burdened--do your lights dim, etc when the bass really gets busy....?

.63 cubic ft

I think, not sure, but when i put the 8000s in my car i used .66 cubic ft enclosure each. I am pretty sure that 1 cubic ft is not reccommended. I just found this MTX 8000 . Hope it helps.

try reversing the +/- wires going to the box. I betcha that fixes it. Your subs are out of phase with the upper range, and it does sound funny like that. Just simply unplug the wires and reverse them. Also, that FatMat won't stick for **** on the trunklid- I redid mine three times. Try some Second Skin or some of the liquid deadener for the trunk lid. It'll stay where you put it.
