Actually, I think 17yroldstanger was talking about buying a used headunit...

And I seriously doubt that could be warranted.

Hey MoneyPit, did you used to have a P1sc?
I could be crazy but I swear like 6 months ago I went to your website and was checking out your air filter setup that you custom made.

Am I crazy er what?

Well with the options you gave me i have to choose crazy... Nah i never had a supercharger till late last year and it been a Vortech the whole time. I think a P1 would have been nice and a D1 even better but i was steered towards Vortech...

Yeah I'm crazy. It must have been someone else.

I will probably upgrade to the D-1 eventually, but the p-1 is flowing enough air to keep me happy for now. The D-1 fits in the same brackets as the P-1 which is

I really want to find out who that was that had fabricated an in-fenderwell air filter for a P-1sc. :damnit:

Stripped your missing out on power by unhooking your spout wire. You need to get something on there like a chip or a tuner that way you can utilize some of that extra timing here and there... There is a reason modern cars have computers that mess with timing, might as well use them.

I'll get it dynoed before I decide to throw down the $$ for a chip. I doubt I'll loose much if any HP by having the spout out, alot of people do this and still put down awesome #'s. If anything my flows will rob me of more power then anything.

I would stick with the P-1 (or comparable other) if you are trying to use the stock engine.

The D-1 is a pretty stout s/c to start out with. But if you are planning on buying a 4-bolt main block with forged internals in the near future I would skip the P-1 and go with the D-1 or S-trim.
Also it depends on whether you are going to go with a stroker. A forged 347 4-bolt would be better off with the D-1.

i was hoping someone would tell me to go for that. so yellow1995cobra, you think i should buy a procharger tuner kit, then get the walbro and 42lbers along with a tune? that sounds good. guess ill start searching for tuners. i hope procharger's tuner kits are good bc the main thing i want is the intercooler for it.

I would go the tuner kit route if it was me, so you can buy the other parts that you want. Do prochargers come in tuner kits like the vortechs? Since your going with a pro-charger, you will need a battery relocation kit as well. Is the one that comes with the kit nhra/ihra legal?

I dont think it is. Mine came with one and its relatively simple. Two bars with a brace on top and a metal bracket. But what are the requirements of being legal?

Im gonna go check to see if there's a brand name on it...

Well the "legal" ones cost some money. My moroso batt box was 100 alone, plus a switch, wire, gets up there.

The batterey box has to be completely sealed, and vented outside the car. The lid needs to have a gasket on it.

None of this really matters though IF your track is not strict, mine is..

I went with the tuner kit. For $2,399 you can't beat it at all. I can't remember what the injectors or the inline fuel pump cost, but I'm sure it was less than the full kit price.

Still running the Smog/AC. It was a hella tight fit but we got it in there, would have been easy w/ the smog out. As far as being powerfull enough ....the Novi 2000 is a big blower, its rated at a higher CFM then any other blower out there, even the YS trim. The 2000 is rated at 1,700 CFM. Its rated up to 19 LBS of boost but the kit comes w/ a 10# pully and the warrenty is void if the stock pully is replaced w/ a smaller one. It has a 3 yr warrenty from Paxton. You can make alot of power w/ this blower, I have heard nothing but postive things bout this from people on the corral and from superchargerhelp.com. Dont get me wrong Vortechs are nice too since the now own Paxton but hell how many damn vortechs to do you see on 5.0's out there....getting to the point of yeah been there seen that. Thats why I went w/ the Paxton, its a friggin awesome blower I dont know why theres not more people running it.

I dont have any dyno #'s yet but am hoping to put in the ball park of 350 RWHP w/ the stock heads and cam, that would be an increase of 120 RWHP from the way it was before. Im running the FMU for now b/c Im only running #30 Injectors and the kit comes w/ a 190 fuel pump. The kit does not come w/ injectors since it is ment for the stock 19's thats why it comes w/ the FMU and 190 Pump. If you have anymore questions just fire away.

i think you have me convinced and sold. do you need to run the FMU? Im assuming thats the fuel management unit, correct me if im wrong. so if i kept the stock injectors, which i dont, everything would be fine? what kind of tuner kit does that have? yellow1995cobra sold me on the walbro 255 and 42lbers, so will i be using the FMU on that?

Yeah Im running the FMU for now b/c I havent had it tuned to see where my A/F ratio is at. Im running 19* of timming w/ the spout out. Im not sure if I will have to run the FMU after its dyno tuned or not, Im hoping the #30's and the 190 pump will be enough, if not then I'll keep the FMU. If you run 42's and a 255 pump you should be more then set. It took us about 13 hrs for the install over the corse of 4 days. The car has run very very well since its been on ( Less then a month). I have yet to feel the full boost of the 2000 b/c I cant get over 5 PSI w/ out the stock clutch slipping . I have a Spec II clutch but its still sitting on my floor, once thats in and I have it tunned I should be able to really get on it and feel the full force of the Novi 2000. I did get on it pretty hard getting on the interstate from about a 50 MPH roll and I think it went up to about 5 or 6 PSI and the on my face was un real, It just wanted to pull so friggin hard, I cant wait to see what 8-10 PSI is like. The Paxton Novi 2000 has A TON of potential and if your looking for alot of power its the first and last blower you will ever need.

I got mine from http://www.jdsperformance.com/ They were alot of help and price matched the blower at the same price they had it for on superchargersforless.com. It cost $3,092 for the base unit, $50 for shipping and $150 for the polished unit. Took about 2 wks to get b/c it took a few days to polish it and it came all the way from Paxton out in CA and Im in ME. so total it cost me $3,342 for one of the best centrifigual ( SP ) blowers out there. Its great to b/c It dosent build boost until 3000-3500 RPMS so if your just tooling around town then its sweet b/c you dont even get in the boost but when you drop the hammer it really comes to life. Im not sure if they sell the tuner kits or not, Id have to check the site our you can as well.

Also dont forget all the hidden costs that come w/ buying a blower. I spent over $4,000 getting this whole set up put together then came to find out that I had to spend another $280 for a spec II clutch . Im not sure what your mods are so far but you will want a bigger MAF Im running a C&L 76MM. Also you need Injectors, I bought my 30's for $130 used off ebay w/ about 500 miles on them. I had to buy a bigger throttle body, I went w/ the Edelbrock 70 MM $249. I also bought a new harmonic ballancer since my stock one had 118,000 miles on it and I was not going to let a bad ballancer ruin my motor after throwing all this money at it, that was another $220. I have yet to sit down and actaully add up everything I spent on the car over the winter, in a way Im scared to and theres still so much more I have to do. Oh yeah dont forget guages, I bought Autometer boost/water temp ones from summit, about $45 each, and the guage pod for them $34 ( the clock delete one)
