I heard that supercharging will hurt my GT is that true. If not what all is changed on my engine when done. I have a stock auto 04 GT.

Also i was told just to do 4.30 gears, CAI, UD pullies, Magnaflow Cat Exhaust and maybe a chip or flash tuner and do nothing more is that true or not.

Help please, getting ready to mod and need to know what to do.

Thanks :flag:

Who told you?

Any power mods you make that derives from stock is going to shorten engine life. How well it's set up and how you treat it afterwards is going to determine by how much. Generally though, most Stangs go trouble free with a blower for thousands upon thousands of miles. Respect the power and it will respect you!

if your looking for reliable power check outs fords supercharger kit for 2valves. Its the same blower they use on alot of stock cars...lightning, cobra, jag's just a smaller version. It cost around 3200 dollars and will add @ 100hp. Check out the thread on here it contains dyno graphs etc from a member who had it installed.

they went back to the m112? i thought only the really early 96-98 kits got them....then they switched to the m-90....
No....the M90 you read (probably in the write up in MM&FF a couple of issues back, right?) was a misprint. They've always been M112's

As far as I know, only early Series I & II Saleen's, entry level Roush and my Allen kit uses an M90/MP90 Blower. All other Roots based set ups use the larger M112.

Nerd. :canada:

Not trying to be to rude lol but if your scared of hurting it then by no means should you mod it. You mod it, you are more than likely going to run it harder than an "average" person would. This means things happen. If your really worried about hurting your car, dont turn a bolt. You play, you pay... there is a reason for this saying :thumb:

well i hope your right! the m-112 is a much better unit then the m-90. I'm thinking of ordering this kit for my pi swapped car and KB won't sell me a kit? I'd much rather have the bigger head unit.

just get 4.10 gears and find a supercharger that you want. Dont waste your money on mods that will only give small gains. If you do have a little cash to waste though, get exhaust(mid-pipe and maybe some weld-in mufflers) to hold you over until you can afford a blower.

as far as hurting your engine, that all depends on how you treat your car. i have an 01 GT with a vortech SQ that puts down 368rwhp on 91 octane. she has almost 90k miles and have had no problems.

You need to beef up the internals of the motor and get a tune to make it safe.
