You need to beef up the internals of the motor and get a tune to make it safe.

as long as he doesnt try to make over 370 or 380 in his auto he will be ok, but if he wants more, he will need to forge his rotating assembly immediately

-im assuming that he wont try to drive like a dumbass or anything and is smart about achieving boost properly

well i hope your right! the m-112 is a much better unit then the m-90. I'm thinking of ordering this kit for my pi swapped car and KB won't sell me a kit? I'd much rather have the bigger head unit.

that is good to hear, cause the only thing making me hold back from ordering that kit was m-90 isn't anygood over 8-9lbs. The m112 can be cranked up alittle more to take advantage of a forged shortblock.....Thats it i;m sold. i'm gonna get thrown out of my own house...i've already spent like 10g's redoing this car this spring. Oh well whats another 3 grand for boost.

Sounds like a you need to understand in context before modding

I'd recommend reading more on superchargers, get a ride in a blown Mustang GT and talk to some folks that install them for a living.

Educate yourself first. Coming to an online forum is a good first step ... a lot of opinions and experiences but not nothing beats LIVE learning.

Get a ride and a talk to some folks and see what they have done.

True, the M90's are limited.....but that's not to say they still don't have potential. I expect to see around 350rwhp with bolt-ons and run mid-12's with mine in my '96 XR7 Cougar. I know a guy who made 370rwhp with a 2.25" pulley and rant 11.9's in a full weight 4.6L '95 T-Bird with his M90 kit and bolt-ons. This same guy (Mike Siska) now makes over 550rwhp and runs 10.5's at 130mph with the same car and a Whipple blower.

M112's, KB's, Whipples and such are all bigger breathers up top, but none of them run any where near as efficiently as the smaller M90 below 6psi. It's a nice little blower for a daily driver.

Driving will hurt you car.. Better garage it!

Seriously.. If you want more power, then it is worth it. If you would like a longer engine life and are happy with the power, leave it alone.

Garage it...haha!

Yup, the trade off of HP with longevity is inevitable in most cases. If something is not engineered with an ehancement in mind, then it's likely the additional parts or tech will adversely impact the service life of the engine.

Banging the gears and revving a blown 4.6 2Valve GT will not likely result in the mileage of my father-in-law's 1999 F250 Powerstroke (turbo) with over 240,000 miles or my aunt's 1999 GTP (supercharged) with 152K miles. But hey, it's your money, your car.

As for me, I am expecting long-life out of my modular, just as I did the old 302's. I will be staying N/A.
