Supercharger Prefrence?

I am still researching (saving) for one. However i have really started to lean more towards a kenne belle twin screw blowzilla. They seem to be cheaper for one. Is it cheaper than a vortech for a reason? I dont want to regret this purchase later on down the road.
It looks like a lot more work as far as installation, compared to vortech tho.
All advice is welcomed.

No intercoolers for twinscrews on the 302, centrifugal blowers can be set up to use one.

Turbo kits (bg turbo, or on3) are cheaper than supercharger kits, have intercoolers, but longer/more expensive install. If you do it all yourself tho, either one will be a weekend.

I don't have any experience w the kenne but not that long ago I installed a vortech v3. I'd do it again, the install wasn't too bad and the power is a kit in the pants. I don't believe the KB will work w the stock hood.

Hood clearance isn't an issue with a KB on a sn95.

I'd provide a link but it won't let me so I'll copy and paste. Found this one another site so it could be an isolated incident. "I'm new to the site and have a problem with my current set-up. I just put a kenne bell on my 1995 mustang gt and it will not fit under the stock hood. It's the 1.5L for a cobra so I'm using a cobra lower. The real problem is the intake on the back of the charger would not clear the fuel pressure regulator and required a intake spacer. So now this thing is sticking up well above the height of the fenders. I'm thinking of trying the 2000 style cobra r hood with the 3.5" rise. But I'm not sure it will clear the bracket on the snout of the kenne bell. ( not sure if its high enough soon enough)View attachment 108649. I know this is a really specific question, just hoping someone knows of a hood that will fit with the same set-up."

I think kenne bell stopped producing a blower for the pushrod 302. Unless you find a used/never used one for sale on ebay/craiglist, no dice there

Well, the 2.1 L KB fits under the stock hood on mine.

For ease of installation and cost, it's pretty hard to beat a blower. There is nothing wrong with a Kenne-Bell. They work just fine. The centrifugals are more popular because they are more efficient (suck less hp and produce less heat). Also a lot easier to intercool. Turbo setups work great, but unless you really want to squeeze a lot of power out of the engine it might be a lot of work and money for something you were never going to use anyway.

My KB 2.6 requires notching the bracing on the backside of the hood to clear the throttle cable bracket.

I am running a paxton SN2000 and I love it. the SN line is sold and ran by Paradice wheels if you want to check em out.

I went w the vortech kit w fmu and msd, and t-rex pump. Why? It was cheaper than a new top-end and made more power. It was also cheaper in the end than the twin screw since the vortech kit comes with everything you need to get up and running. A tune is still needed though even w the fmu "band aid" and contrary to popular belief it works and the car makes power. A/f is good and there are no drivabliy issues.

+1. There are lots of ways to make it eat. Don't get all caught up in the absolute best way to make power. Nothing wrong with an FMU.

I appreciate the feedback gentlemen. Just acquired a 3rd vehicle so the mustang is no longer a backup. Going to step back and eliminate smog pump and do a hci upgrade to get ready for either flowzilla or the vortech v3. Still pondering.
Going to put in gt40 heads with gt40 intake. Is the b303 cam a good decision?
