can i run a blower with my 30# injectors?

And is it ok with p head since it raises the compresion?

can u run a blower with underdrive pulleys, not sure if mine are or not, car had a lost of mods when i bought it.

just looking on running blower or nitrous here soon, and trying to decide

30#s are fine, i'm only running 24s. Vortech kits come with 24s, and a crank pulley, so u don't have to worry about the injectors, your fine. the underdrives don't matter, you get what u need from the kit. yes it will raise the compression, but the heads won't matter, its the pistons that make the difference. i would do a compression test to see what you have before you bolt on a blower. as long as your below 10:1 you should be good.

You guys are crazy with small injectors. Can't use the pulleys. Put the stockers back on.

Yahtzee!

How much does your motor mean to you? That should be the question.

I dynoed an AFR of 13.5 with 30's and NO FMU and that was with AODE and stock heads/cam.

Repeat after me:

" 36 or 42
Unless you run an FMU"

Underdrive pulleys are OUT!
Fluidyne is IN!

Engine compression has nothing to do with fuel pressure.

With a blower and 10psi probably 420HP or so. That's if tuned correctly on a dyno. I think you could keep the injectors you have now and occasionally spray a 100HP shot when needed. I would do the Nitrous.

Prokiller said Vortech's kit comes with 24's, is that right? I was under the assumption that the FMU was designed to work the stock injectors.

I am contemplating a S-Trim purchase myself. Actually I've started putting away some $$ for it already.

Today 08:51 PM "............

Actually,it does.

10psi,and occasionally squirt a 100shot when needed??That would bring his stactic CR up to @18.5:1,...he would be lucky to be able to pull that one off with 42's,and a 255pump.The more boost that you throw at an enine, the more your compression ratio will increase.Higher Cr's need more fuel and less timing, to be able to avoid detonation.

30's will be fine as long as you have a good pump, and don't get too greedy with the boost. 8-10#s will be safe,...and a BTM would allow you run up to 14 or so.

boosting your car will give you constant power that does not require you to fill a bottle. nitrous is great, but nasty in a mustang, especially with a large shot. 30lb injectors with a good pump and 10psi will run great. Instead of a FMU, just get a 1:1 boost ratio adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

How do you figure the compression ratio will be 18.5:1? Compression is the ratio of volumes within the cylinder while the piston is at BDC and TDC. How would boost or nitrous bring the STATIC compression ratio up when compression ratios have nothing to do with induction style? If you want to get technical, how would it affect DYNAMIC compression? You let us know...

To the original poster - I'd go with nitrous if you've got the means to refill the bottles constantly. Richen up the car big time and sneak up on the tune. It would be very smart of you to get the car dyno tuned after whatever course of action you decide to take.

You do NOT need an FMU, an adjustable fuel pressure regulator has greater benefits. http://store.summitracing.com/defau...Ntk=KeywordSearch&Ntt=fuel+pressure+regulator

I bought my combo with just the S-Trim tuner kit, 42's, 255 FP, FPR and that was it. I added the PMS and methanol kit and hit 11.80's on Nitto DR's. I'm gonna try some slicks next time. I only got in 2 runs but I'm sure it's good for lower ET and I'm not a great driver either.
I'm still on stock internals, heads, fuel rails, cam, etc....just look at my sig.
