supercharger

the charger isnt a problem. the pump and injectors MAY be an issue.

get it on a dyno and check the ARF before you buy it. if it checks out i'd get it, if the afr is above 13.0 i would be worried.

a new fuel pump and injectors can be had for CHEAP

the air fuel ratio.

for a supercharged car it should not be above 12.5 ideally. if the pump or injectors are over their limit the AFR will start to lean out. a lean condition can lead to VERY bad things up to eventually ruining the engine.

the blower looks like it still has the factory "wagon wheel" 3.5 pulley on it so it is most likely making 9-10 psi. it's hard to judge how safe it is without datalogging the pump duty cycle, injector duty cycle and knowing the AFR. thats a good deal on a car with a blower already on it.

ask the owner where the car was dyoned and the power it made. if he has a dyno sheet it should show the AFR at the bottom.

Thanks I am very clueless on this stuff. Another dumb question when you say get it tuned what do you mean put it on a dyno and a computer and what would this cost. If it is only 9 PSI would that be OK our should I just put bigger injectors on it. Boy I really want this car but now I am scared. Seems like a good price cars around here go for that without any mods especially a supercharger. maybe I should take off and sell
Thanks Hunter

Boy I am nervous about this car runs good maybe take the supercharger off and sell it. the price is good though cars without mods around here go for that price. what would a tune cost

Hunter dont be scared. We are all here for ya bro. I grew up on this place and learned just about everything I know about mustangs from here and from working on them hands on.

THe car should be tuned. You should have it out on the dyno and have the Air to Fuel ratio checked out. When you have a supercharger you need to have the right air to fuel ratio or the engine could go BOOM. You dont want that.

If you ask the owner if the car has been tuned and dynoed, he should know what you are talking about. Ask him to see tye dyno chart where the car has been dynoed and you should see the air to fuel ratio. Also, you will have to run 93 Octane in the car. Not sure if you knew this. As far as a tune, you dont have to buy a $650 tuner. Some places can custom burn a chip for you, but you are still llooking at $350 bucks.

Its not a bad thing to have the blower. Just keep your foot out of the throttle for sure, unless like we said, its been tuned and stuff. Just because it runs smooth at idle doesnt mean it wotn have detination and problems when its under boost.

We are all hear to learn. :nice:

it's a steal for taht price

do not take the s/c off. it sounds like a lot, especially to someone who is not familiar with this kind of thing, but it's not bad. just ask the owner where it was tuned.

if you want you can PM me the sellers number and i'll call him for you and get the story if u want.
