ok im getting a KB 2.2 supercharger i was wondering what size injectors do i need to run 9-10psi. And what camshaft would be good for a boosted application? and Should i ditch my heads for some alumnium ones or keep them?

Thanks

Not sure about the cam, but as for the injectors, most people try and roll with some 42 pounders or so with a custom tune. Does the KB come with an FMU? Cus the Vortech I was looking at did, and others use the FMU with the stock injectors, but that's not the best idea. I have an injector flow chart somewhere on my computer, I'll try and find it and post it later.

I would go straight to a 42lb and call it a day. Dial it in with your tweecer. I see no reason to change your heads, P heads are fine. Of course you'd make more with some afr 185's, TW or whatever but its not a necessity. You'll still do over 400hp on a safe tune. For a cam thats your call. The B cam sucks IMO but a good custom grind is $325 from ed c or $369 from jay allen. You'll also need new springs and might wanna do new seals as well. I think you'll end up with a very fun street car!

Well, ultimately, you want to do a tune on the dyno with AFR values. The TwEECer helps you get more exact values on your mass air curve for driveability. It also allows you to change injectors w/o having to recal'b the MAM. If you get a new MAM to accompany your S/C you just get it already cal'b for the 42's.

You can also raise the idle (to help from cold start stalls with the larger inj), raise the rev limiter, and most importantly with the S/C, lower the temps which your fan comes on.

There are a LOT of things with spark tables, and timing curves, but I dont even know that myself...I just use the TwEECer for the "basics"

I'd use a novi 2000. You'd need to buy a GT40 intake to use the kb 2.2 so that adds even more to the cost. The novi will make killer power once you tune it.

Novi 2000 can do up to 27lbs according to the site. It'll do 8-10 out of the box unless its going on a really high flowing combo (which you dont have) it'll show less psi on the gauge.

Yeah I know you can use stock 5.0 intakes with KB blowers, but I didnt think youd consider taking a huge step backwards? Check out www.superchargers4less.com they have real good prices. I bought a vortech SQ from them cheaper than everyone I checked.

Go with the 42's.

Now that you are boosted can you say ......................WIDE BAND?

Get a wb and tune on the street (be careful when working on wot ratio .... seriously .... have someone ride shotgun to work the laptop) before you go to the dyno. That way you'll be really close when you get to the shop.

As for the heads you could always have a set ready to go when you blow your first head gasket ...................................

If $$ is an issue, you can get a new Vortech COMPLETE kit under $3k. You can get a used one for $teensK. NOTHING wrong with the choices you put, but for the $$ Vortech is now the way to do it!
