so im in the process of lowering my 69 fastback as we speak... i had to use a spring compressor to remove the orig. coil.... now with no load on the suspension i can slide the new 1 inch drop spring right onto the pearch and wiggle it around... is this normal for those who have lowered their cars??? i have not run into this before and it dosent seem correct to me... once there is a load on the suspension it will seat but i dont want to hit a pothole and loose a spring... HELP... any advice please

well i have never driven the car.so no hill hopping ever here, well not this car anyway.... had it for almost 7 years... (october 20th is 7 years) every part has been replaced with the exception of the roof/firewall/driver quarter panel/ trans and rear end tunnels.... so i was not sure... i just know that the front springs are WAY longer and smaller than the new springs....

too much time and money in this car... i want to drive it.... almost ready for paint and a new engine... everything else i purchased and waiting to be installed with the exception of some chrome/stainless trim and exhaust...
