Suspension Info

After a week of searching this and other mustang forums I've gotten no closer to an "answer".

I want to lower my 2012 GTCS 1", however while some say that lowering springs is all you need, others say that with just springs you will have a bad ride and wear out the stock shocks/struts prematurely.

Some say the FRPP 1" kit is great, others say it is overpriced and pretty bad. Truthfully, the kit seems like it has parts I really don't care about. Do I really need different sway bars?

Any help/info would be appreciated.

My goal is 1" lower for looks and less roll and dip when cornering and accel/braking.

Springs alone will lower the car, but you need some extra parts to lower it correctly. A control arm kit with an adjustable upper arm to correct the pinion angle, lower control arm relocation brackets to restore the anti-squat geometry, adjustable pan hard bar to center the axle housing, struts and shocks valved to match the spring rate, etc... Those parts will allow you to lower the car properly and they don't HAVE to be installed all at once. My car has the Steeda sport springs.
evrything else is stock, with the exception of billet lower arms and adjustable panhard bar.
The ride is a little firm but I love the way it handles.
I did purchase lower arm relocation brackets (not installed yet) because in the cold weather i had a bad wheel hop issue. Its much better now that its warm, but I still want to get the power to the ground.
I just had longtube headers installed at a ford dealer. He had to drop my whole front end, so I needed a realignment. He said everything was right on.
I also have purchased an adjustable upper arm from UPR (not installed yet) just because i want all the power going to the road.
But if you just want a lowered car and your not spinning your wheels, you dont need the other stuff, it rides and handles fine.

If you want just looks and don't really care about proper vehicle dynamics then get just springs, Steeda or FRPP are great choices however the FRPP units alone are on back order, any new units made due to handling packs are more popular then just springs alone so they get allocated there 1st.

If you want your car to handle properly then a suspension pack is required such as the FR3 handling pack from FRPP or Steeda stage 2 handling pack 555-2371. To improve on that at some point you should add CHE relocation brackets and lower control arms. At some later point you can add the CHE adjustable panhard rod and upper control arm.
