Suspension Question - Koni FSD Kit

Anybody installed the Koni FSD Kit with struts and shocks for 2005-2012 Mustangs? Pricy at $750-900 delivered and more expensive than a set of Bilsteins.
Koni also sells the same Kit bundled with Eibach lowering springs for a 1.5" drop.

Interested in how they affect the ride over lousy roads; I've seen comments both good and bad. My 2010 GT has stock suspension currently and I don't intend to drop it.

You're 100% correct...very few (if any) Stang owners on the blogs use the FSDs bec of their need to keep the stock height to work well. I've lowered all my older GTs but not my 2010. I spoke with tech support at Koni re their possible bundle of FSDs with Eibach lowering springs...not available (yet) for 2005+ Stangs. Anyway, I ordered the FSD Kit #2100-4064 so we'll see how well they compare to the D-Specs and the Bilstein HDs I've had on past Stangs.

Or Koni could design a special FSD model just for lowered Stangs...like they did for the MB SLR McLaren F1...check this link -

One other item for anybody checking Koni FSDs shocks & struts for 2005+ Mustangs on the tirerack site...they only list them as available for Coupes, not Verts. I contacted Koni and their tech support stated this is incorrect - they make no distinction between the two models as suitable for this product line.

Finally got the Koni FSD Kit installed and it makes quite a difference - but only if you leave your Mustang at the original ride height. And that's probably a deal killer for most folks on Mustang blogs.

Without a noticeable decrease in handling, they make the ride over bad roads a lot more controlled with less jounce and bounce. It feels like my 19" Brembo wheels and 255 series Pirellis are making the same movements as before - but the chassis above the unsprung weight isn't sending all that motion up the chain.

Past history - I had Bilstein HDs in my lowered 2002 GT and I really enjoyed them. Went to Tokico D-Spec adjustables in my lowered 2005 GT and I never could find the right settings.

My 2010 is my first GT in two ways - my first DD ride and my first with an auto trans. Since I have no plans of lowering it I now believe the Koni FSDs were a great choice to retain handling and smooth out the ever-decreasing quality of the freeways and streets here in SoCA. The set cost about $100 more than a set of Bilstein HDs.
