suspension questions

I am looking at getting some suspension pieces. First i want to get shocks and struts. Was looking at the tokico HP's. Is it worth it to step up to adj one's? My car is mainly street use with some strip time. Next question, is there a big differnce between cheap control arms and expensive one's? And what about subframe connectors? I will def weld them in. With the adj units, can I adj. them to better perform at the strip then return back to street settings? Thanks I just don't want to spend money that I don't have to.

As I tell just about everyone get yourself an MM starter box if you want the car to handle well. You can go with the tokico illumina kit if you want some adjustabilty. Most people that buy adjustable struts/shocks seldom adjust them though.

The difference between cheap lowers and the more expensive ones is quality. Most of the adjustable control arms out there are rip offs of MM's design. They are cheaper for two reasons. 1 These company's didn't have to shell out all the $$$ for R&D. 2 They have their products made in china or india to cut cost. #2 also usually means lower quality material and crappy looking welds. What I am saying here is don't support company's who rip off the innovators.

Adjustable ones are nice, but if you aren't going to tinker with it every time before you go to the track, they are probably not 'needed.' There are definitely differences, take a look at our article on control arm quality: http://www.steedablog.com/2012/01/the-hidden-difference-in-control-arms/
