I have Eibach Sportlines on my 94' right now and i'm planning to get some KYB GR-2's in the next few days cuz the stockers are bottoming out on me. Does anyone know how this combo will work together? Are the KYB's up for the job with those springs or will i have problems? Anyone running this combo or something similar, how are they working and how much has corner carving improved? Pics welcome.

Although many people have swapped to KYB's and like them, they do not compare to quality (read "not cheap") dampers. If you can afford them, go with Bilstein for the best ride quality available. KYB's will work fine to replace your stock equipment, but don't expect much more than stock quality.

With rare exception, you get what you pay for.

I ran Eibach and KYBs, it works, but the grass is always greener. I knew that I could get much better quality. If I had it to do over again, I would have waited, saved, and went with higher quality.

But, like I said, it works and I don't remember them bottoming out on me.

I don't have any of the stuff you mentioned, but I do have lots of suspension stuff. Quality shocks/struts do make a difference. Springs rates will affect performance way more than the amount of drop. Sportlines are probably a good bit stiffer than stock, so with a good set of shocks/struts, your car will handle much better than stock.

I've got H&R Race springs which are pretty stiff, but with Bilsteins, they are not too harsh at all. In fact, highway trips are absolutely comfortable and corner carving is much more fun and more safe. I'd recommend new endlinks with eurethane, too, if yours are stock.

Subframe connectors are cheap (less than $100) and will stiffen the chasis. Very noticeable and it will prevent many future squeaks and chasis wear-and-tear. Corner carving is much better with subs.

Thanks guys,

I guess i'll order them since most of the complaints i've gotten on the KYB's is the ride quaility. I am 19 and don't have back problems yet so ride quality isn't really an issue to me. lol. I don't care if its stiff as hell(which it is right now), as long as the KYB's will not be bottoming out with those spring rates. Bilstiens are an amazing product...........trut me, i looked at them FIRST. But they are just so damn expensive and me being a college student won't ever see that kinda money. heh. I found the KYB's pretty damn cheap so its tempting.

I know subframe connectors are a must with mustangs and those are next on my list, but first things first. I am trying to get my suspension set up for autocrossing. So far i have Hotchkis lower C-arms, Sportlines, Energy suspension endlinks and rack bushings, and a bullit rear sway bar. After the shocks/struts i plan on subframe connectors and a panhard bar but that will be later. Anyways, thanks for the responses. Anyone with absolutley negative feedback about the KYB's?
