I am looking to upgrade my stock shocks / struts but don't want to spend a ton of money. I was going to go ahead and get the bilsteins but then I was looking at stangsuspension.com and found this package below for about the same price.
This kit includes all the suspension parts featured on the limited edition Bullitt Mustang. This is by far the best value suspension package on all of StangSuspension.

The kit includes:

Tokico Performance Struts
Tokico Performance Shocks
Ford Racing Bullitt Springs
Front Performance Swaybar
Rear Performance Swaybar
The springs on this package have a similar drop and spring rating as our popular Ford Racing C springs. This package cannot be beat for the price!!
For $500 bucks, is this a pretty decent deal, or would the bilsteins be better? Would I need C/C plates for such a little drop? My car is mainly a DD with occasional strip time during the summer; I'm mostly looking for better ride quality and if I can get some better handling i'll take it.

Your straight line performance will suffer with a set up like that. Although, you may get more satisfactory performance in the turns. For $500, though, thats really not bad. It'll definitely make your car "feel" more responsive through the turns. Whether or not the ride quality will be any better is subjective, is it not?

Straight line performance will suffer? How? I'm looking for the best ride quality suspension upgrade for around $500; I know that this probably isn't the "best" setup out there, but for the money I have to work with I am looking for opinions. If I can add some additional handling performance and have to cut back on some ride quality, I would be interested. The point being I want to have something that is better than stock. I'm not planning on my car to ever be a serious drag car, but I do run it once in awhile for fun. Knowing this, if you had choices between the package (in my first post at the top) or bilsteins, what would it be? Do I need C/C plates if I lower my car with this system above?

im familiar with that package. its basically the next step up over a stock GT, a stock Bullitt. you def will notice a little improvement, but it depends on what youre looking for. IMO, theres no way you can compare the Bullitt suspension kit and a set of Bilsteins. the Bilsteins are night and day better all around than those Tokicos. stiffer rebound, longer life, etc. it really depends how far you want to take your ride. personally, i love to carve corners, and my Tokicos arent enough for my liking. i was gonna get Bilsteins, but now im just gonna say screw it, and save for a set of coilovers. and you dont NEED C/C plates for that small of a drop, but since its on your DD, i would say "better safe than sorry". C/C plates are even helpful on a stock GT, just cuz you can fine tune your suspension angles. i roll with -2.0* camber and i could def tell a bit of difference in the twisties

Straight line meaning drag racing type "straight line performance," due to the difference in weight transfer compared to the stock springs.
