id go with the svo, ive had both and car for car the svo handles better, brakes better, gets better mpg, and is about as fast as a stock 5.0, and can be easily modded, add a fmic, a boost controller, a full 3" exhaust, cai and really beat the snot out of a basic bolt on 5.0, those cars have a vert tough bottom end, and come with either 3.45-3.73 gears, I would try to find a 86, this way it already has the quad shock, and the 35injectors, and the pe computer.

It depends on what you want to do with it. The SVO is a better car in most ways, but will never have the explosive torque or exhaust note of a 5.0L.

We had an SVO run with our group. NO idea on the mods, but on Drag Radials he went 12.5 @ 108. He drove to and from the track and the car looked and sounded very nice.

The 5.0 will feel and sound better (personal preferance of course) but the SVO and turbo 4 have their own appeal. I say look for the best deal. If the cars a V8, get a V8, if the cars a turbo 4, mod the turbo 4.

What you do is find two svo's…remove their turbo's and put em on the 5.0.

Enough said.
