I might be pickin up a 94 GT that needs a donor motor and tranny. And I already have an '87 LX 5.0 that has a good tranny and motor (but with a twisted frame) and I was curious to see how difficult it would be to swap the combo out of my LX and into the 94? I imagine there's a bit of overall technical & mechanical difference engine wise between these two cars?

The engine is a very close swap in terms of mechanical fit. The upper intake manifold needs an elblow to postion the TB properly, or you may need the upper from a 94 Mustang. The fuel injector rails are different along with the fuel pressure regulator. The electrical items are all different and you will need another 94 to raid for them.

The transmission/bellhousing is about 3/4" shorter in overall legnth, so you may have a problem with the driveshaft being long enough.

you're the man. Would it please please be possible for you to list the entire grocery list of parts I will need from an extra '94 model? please please? I believe Im going to try to find a tranny out of a donor '94 or '95 as opposed to trying to retrofit the one out of my '87. I might find somebody who will trade across for my tranny!

I have a wrecked 95 gt with a stock 5.0 and AODE. I pulled the motor ,tranny, ECM, and sensors. I am planning on installing it into my 88 notch but I might be interested in a trade for a fox setup depending on what you have and where you are. This complete setup has 100k miles. PM me for more info

Thanks
Joel
