Sway bar bushing what to do

Jeeeez - all this for some sway bar bushings. I am kinda wondering if I am gonna do this afterall.

HAHAHAHAHAHA JT. 2" swaybar. Now that you mention it, that doesn't sound like too bad of an idea. If it comes with the bushings, I may just have to go that route.

You already got great replies, but I will chime in anyhow. I dont see poly as all that brutal - pure perspective here. In my first dabbling on suspensions a long time ago, I put Delrin on the double-wishbone front suspension of a Euro car I have. Now that was pretty brutal. Poly is much less brutal, so it does not bother me.

As far as the sway bar, it wont make hardly any difference in the SOTP. The stock anti-sway bushings are a fairly hard durometer anyhow - not that far from poly. Now in the LCA (front) bushings is where you can really feel a difference IMHO.

I have all poly on the front end of the 88 GT vert (the 94's bushings are still stock; I have not done the sway and end links in it yet) and it is abrupt over larger bumps. I have newer, but not very nice, dampers on the '88 (which would help) nor do I have progressive rate springs.

Would I do it again - you bet. And for the anti-sway bars and end links, you cant go wrong with the poly.

FWIW, I simply ordered the end links and bushings from Summit - they have both (to augment the link Shane provided).

Well, I went out and opened my box so I could see if I could help ya out. Low and behold, mine did not come with ANY zerk fittings. WTF? You are right - it looks like the fitting would be captured from the other side, not threaded in. Can you see how it is on the one that you have with the fitting? Is there a nut on the outside of the bracket or something to hold it? I gotta go do some checking.

I just sent off an email to ES to see what gives. Otherwise I would have assumed the zerks are not included and would have boogered a zerk in there (I would have tapped that boss to use a screw in fitting, which is not ideal at all). Now I know that it might (should) come with the fittings. I doubt they are open on Sat., so it might be awhile before I hear back. I will let ya know what they say (just for curiosity's sake).

Lookin good man! I hear ya on the zerks. If they dont send me some, I will grab something that fits at the store and tap the holes. You know how it is - if something is supposed to come with a part, I want that part. We will see (no word yet).

I am too lazy to look right now - did you do new springs? If so, I might ask the alignment guy to factor in for a *little* bit of spring settling (affecting camber).

You should be able to find a shop to get the settings you want (getting said specs ahead of time might be a good idea). If peeps here didnt know, perhaps on the cornercarvers forum or a place like MM would know a good set of proven specs.

Then have the car aligned to those specs (since you can dial in more caster and camber than was originally allowed, a shop might try to stick to stock settings, which is teh lose).

It can be hard to find a good alignment shop to do the work, but they are out there Ihave heard . Or do the MFE alignment (yourself).
