my car will start and run for a few mins. but then starts running like crapola and the voltage guage is all the way down? if u rev the engine the volts do not go up? but the alt is good? any ideas. a friend had this problem and said it was a fusible link but which one? and how do i fix it? its a 88 GT w/ stock alt set up. thanks for the help

I hardly ever see the links go out...it's usually the voltage regulator checking out. I'd try swapping in another alt. if you can get ahold of one and see if that fixes the problem.
