What would I need (Bellhousing wise) to put a 98 t-45 behing my mid 80's 351w. the tranny came from a 98 gt with the 4.6ltr, the 351w was built and is braking the 425 horse mark. Will the t-45 hold up?
Thanks, Richard

the t45 is a piece of JUNK!!!!! Plus the bellhousing is not detachable so there is no way you could do it. . . stick with a t5. Why do you think they got rid of the t45 for the t3650?

Bell won't fit, plus the starter is a 3 bolt on a T-45 and only a 2 bolt on a 351. Buy a Tremec trans, because a T-5 will probably take a dump on you behind that 351.

So maybe the trans I got is not the t-45 I thought. The trans has a detachable bell housing. It has tremec stamped on it. What trans would it be? It came out of a 98 gt. Could I swap the bell housings then and where do I find the one to fit the 351w.
Thanks, Richard

Well the bell housing comes off, just not like an old T-5 bell. The bell unbolts from the transmission after the trans is out of the car. A 98 GT does indeed have a T-45.
