i have a brand new t-45 tranny on an 01 gt. it's been working fine other than the clutch pedal engaging really high. we fixed that.
but while in the shop, the tech mentions that he's shocked i don't have a spring on the exterior of the bellhousing the keeps the TOB totally disengaged from the clutch fork (or something like that.)
he ended up installing a spring on the bottom, exterior of the tranny bellhousing. this way, he says, when i'm cruising along, my clutch won't be in contact with the tob.
is the t-45 supposed to have a mechanism like that, and the original installer just forgot? or is the spring bs? cause now, when i touch the clutch pedal, something under the car is squeaking.
without the spring, however, the cable under the car is too loose (after changing it so that the pedal engages closer to the floor.)
