T-45 Swap

[85 Coupe 5.0]

Getting ready to do a T45 swap, but have a few questions......

The trans i'm using is from a '96 Cobra. From what I can tell the only difference is that the transmission mounting point on the cobra tranny is farther back than my stock crossmember. so i can either change the tailhousing or re-weld the crossmember. Anyone else been here? do they make a conversion mount or something for this? Also, will my stock automatic crossmember work?

just swap the ext housing, much easier.

I have no extension housing to swap with. my car is currently an auto.

well then break-out the wizzer 'n welder and move the X-member

X-members are the same but you may need a new trans mount

I was hoping I wouldn't have to move the x member, surely someone out there makes a mount or something to perform this swap. but if not, i guess that's my only option.
