T-45 Transmission in 1997 Cobra

Never dealt with the T-45's before.

Is a very mild whining/shuddering noise common for 1st and 2nd gear from idle until 1,200 rpm's? Or am I just bogging it down and the noise is from engine vibration? My T-5's made all kind of noises but usually it was in the higher power band.

Does this particular '97 Cobra still have the factory shifter or is there an aftermarket shifter involved?

If there is an aftermarket shifter, is the protective rubber "shifter boot" still there or is it missing ? Is the fluid level ok - not low ?

Absolutely everything is bone stock. Should I check fluid level through transmission case plug fill hole or remove shifter and inspect from above?
