so i rebuilt my t-5 tranny that is in the 67 now; the tranny is from an 87 gt mustang. i bought a complete rebuild kit and video from Hanlon motorsports. after rebuilding and installing my tranny, i noticed that when i am drving it, it will clash 4th gear. when downshifting it will clash 4th and sometimes clash when i downshift into 3rd. when driving it to work today i had issues come up with 3rd. sometimes, it wont go in all the way, so it will pop out of gear. i also had it get stuck in 3rd when it was parked. after moving the shifter around a lot trying to get it out of gear, it came out. anyone have an idea of what is wrong?

well it makes sense that the 3-4 slider assembly had something wrong with it

i cant exactly tell you which part it was, but my best suggestion would be to tear it apart again (i know i know) and check out that assembly... its the slider that locks the input shaft to the output shaft

sorry to hear about the problem, frustrating things, manual trannies are

You could have just a pad missing from the shift fork. You will need to pull the top off and take the forks out to check.

My Jeep got hard to get into 4th, and had broken the synchro parts for 3-4. Ran fine, shifted if you matched rpms. Had pieces in the bottom of the case.

Fortunately, the 3-4 is at the front of the case.
