took apart my trans the other day to put new syncros in. got to putting the tail housing back on and it wont go together. seems to me that the fifth gear shift arm that comes through the case isnt lining up to the hole in the tail housing. any help would be awesome. thinking about leaving it out and getting the tremec ive wanted to swap in.

Hanlon also has a video on how to rebuild your T5 or Tremec. If they are out of stock see http://cartapes.com. It costs less than $20, and is worth every penny of it.

See http://www.ttcautomotive.com/English/onlineorder/product.asp to download a FREE service manual for T5 or Tremec 3550
You will need the Adobe Acrobat viewer which is also a free download – http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

See http://www.hanlonmotorsports.com/ or http://www.ddperformance.com/index2.htm for parts

Just a question about the 3-4 synchro for those guys who have taken a T-5 apart.

WHich way does the chamfered edge of the synchro face? Does it face the input shaft or does it face the driveshaft?? I have two write-ups and pics showing it facing the input shaft but the TTC-Tremec manual doesn't say and the diagram looks like it faces the driveshaft.

Can't offer much help on putting the tailhousing together. I haven't done it yet. I'm waiting for a new mainshaft to come so i can put it back together.

As for ease of disassembly. It was my first time and i had it completely apart in 2 hours. It was so easy i don't even really need the manual to put it back together.
