T-5 tranny any good????

I got a 2001 gt (6/00 i lucked out with the 3650) with a T-5 tranny. Id like to know how good are they? Comared to the 3650. or is it worth investing into getting a TKO v.2. my engine is making 290rwhp and im look to make more.

I believe that its a T 45, not T 5 they came on V6s in that year.I believe that the 3650 is stronger than the T45, but people seem to have less shifting problems with the T 45, and as for performance you should be OK, unless you slap on a SC then you would probably be better off buying the TKO so you KNOW that it will hold up and not give up...if I am wrong please correct me LOL.

I think the T-45 is rated up to 400hp. It does shift a bit better than the 3650, but I would go with the TKO and not have to worry about breaking when pulling powershifts.

If you're going for more power, get the TKO now and have one less thing to worry about. Have you broken anything yet with that much power?

T45 up to 400 hp hell yea that is why it still hasn't blow.

no i haven't had any problems with other than reverse is a little sticky but other than that its ok
