Finally getting ready to send car to have Heidt's kit installed. I was wondering if anyone had any reccomendations on trans crossmember. From researching it looks like there are few options.

JMC motorsports 65-70 T56 CROSSMEMBER KIT $$$ $365.00

Ron Morris New product not available until 8/18.

DVS restorations.

Fab cross member from 2004 cobra trans crossmember.

Car will have 2004 cobra motor and IRS.

JMC is too much $.
I don't like the look of the DVS crossmember.
Haven't seen the Ron Morris product but I usually like their stuff.

I have a 67 coupe into which I am putting the same drivetrain. I made my own from 1-5/8" tubing and some 2x2x 1/4" angle. Mine bolts into the subframe connectors. So I guess I vote for fabbing one from the 2004 crossmember.

I wouldn't fab it from the newer one, start fresh. The shop your taking it to should be able to make one. That is what we would do...

I used a fox body double hump crossmember. I did have to modify it to fit between the frame rails and allow for better clearancing for the 3" exhaust. I used 3/8 rod to support it in the sections I bent. Next time I take it out I'll post some pics. Probably this summer.
