 i want to buy a 6 speed trans converion kit but i don't know where to get one at and if it is a good trans to get. my little old 5 speed went out and i want something that most fox body mustangs don't have

just did the swap on my car....D&D performance sells a kit to convert it with the shortened driveshaft, longer speedo cable and the crossmemeber brackets you need to move the crossmember back. its no less than $2,500 its a fairly easy swap and can be done in a weekend by the average gearhead. plus you can retain the use the factory 10 spline clutch assembly. the base T56 is rated at 440 ft lbs of torque...the Viper Spec T56 they say can handle way more than its rated, but that is a chunk of cash to be dropping down

I know this is old...but i have a T-56 from mt T/A sitting here collecting dust and I wanted to install it in my 'Fox' (hell, an LSC is nothing but a big ass Stang, right?), but needed to know if there was a kit that made it possible to use. i know that they selll T-56s ready to go in, but like I said, mine is from Brand X... :D

thank you very much, that was just the info i was looking for :D
Let us know how it works. The GM T56's are plentiful in the junkyards and could be a cheap alternative to $$$ on a Tremec TKO or rebuilt T5.

If you find me a good GM t56 for a reasonable price (less than $700) I'll give you a $150 to crate it and ship it to me. I'm serious.
