OK, i found a t-5z that needs rebuilt locally. Here's what he had to say is wrong with it:

Cluster gear and one of the top gears (second I think) needs replaced. The tranny itself is a little over a year old.

What all do I need to replace to make this work good again? I know a guy locally who is pretty good at rebuilding trannies, especially t-5's (guess you get good at those after the first hundred )

what all parts do I need and links to where I buy them??? Thanks.

See http://www.ttcautomotive.com/English/onlineorder/product.asp to download a FREE service manual for T5 or Tremec 3550
You will need the Adobe Acrobat viewer which is also a free download – http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

See http://www.hanlonmotorsports.com/ or http://www.ddperformance.com for parts

A T5 rebuild kit with syncros, bearings and other small parts costs about $160. It does not include any gears or shafts.

http://cartapes.com also has a video on how to rebuild your T5 or Tremec. It costs less than $20, and is worth every penny of it.

hey man there is also that place over on bluelick that sells everything you need for a tranny and they are local. But if your going to do what you say you are I don't think a z box is going to stay together much longer than a WC. but that's just me.

If you know a guy that's good with the trannies - I'd get it to him, let him disassemble it and see what HE thinks it needs. If he's as good as you say, he'll know what it needs and where to get those parts.
