Well i got the t top stang home and next the teardown begins. Got to do a heater core but thats no biggie, no i can dye the dash outside the car instead of in. I will post some pics as the progress continues. I will be refinancing my loan and using the extra cash to get her painted and panels aligned ect. But i dont want to drop her off for paint untill everything else is done engine and trans wise. The grey interior will be making a transplant to the 88 lx so it can be sold. Then the black interior that i have in my basement will slowly start to make its debut in the t top car, after the roll bars are welded in of course. The only black parts i dont have are t top headliner, i will remove stock red one and have recovered in black, and the plastics in the back seat area will come out and be dyed as well as dash. My buddy has a 98 stang and he is doing a rear seat delete so i will be gettin his back black leathers to match my front black leathers.:nice: Engine wise im waiting for my buddys dad to give me a price on assembly and checkover. I have the bottom end and heads and he will be putting it all together and getting me the pushrod length ect. basically he will have it so its ready to fire when i drop it in the car. IM at a fork in the road now, the a/c system on the t top car is pretty beat, the line coming from firewall to condenser is broke and the rubber hose above the intake is deteriating(sp) , So do i remove the a/c and enjoy the nice clean look of a a/c LEss engine bay? or do i fix it and enjoy the cold air on the hot summer days? I dunno what to do about this one. I would love to have air. but it has t tops soooo:shrug:

Also the rear will be pulled and sold, and my built 8.8 with c clips elims. and spool will go in its place. Anybody recomend a good set of affordable control arms and if i what i should get bushing wise ? i have heard alot like dont get the spherical cuz they bind, dont get rubber cuz they flex to much ect ect. This is a street car that will see the track maybe 8 times a year, maybe. Car will remain automatic as well but by means of full manual valvebody. all i can think of for now. heres some before shots, i will post more as i take them and work on the car.

No offense, but Id suggest making your goal spring of 09. These cars require alot of TLC when then are in this cond, and they arent finished over night....or at all for that matter. I got mine in a little better shape than yours, and I spent 3 years doing body work, interior swaps, motor swaps , drivetrain, susp and brakes. And let me tell you, Im STILL not finished. Set small goals and stay focused. These cars are rare and worth preserving.

BTW- do you live in CT??? I can hook you up with a really good price on black interior panels that are in mint cond. I also have the rear sunshade in OEM black. Im from MA so it wouldnt be that long of a drive. They go for 300 on ebay in this cond, Ill give you both of them for $150!

Mine was about a year and 9 months, so I agree... That and my car was in pretty good shape before we started on it. Not to mention having a shop at the house to work in. Good luck with the car though, they are fun to work on and twice as much to drive.

hmm , i live in nj, but i drove up to ct for the car, took me about 2hr and 20 minutes to get to a place called vinnys on colony road in wallingford. The panels you have, are you talking about the panels that surround the quarter window, and go to the trunk area?

I really would like to get her driveable and somewhat ready for 08, but doubt it will be done. I figure it could take a month at the body shop, and i have a winter so who knows. I pretty much have everything, its a labor install project now. I just want to have a time goal to work towards, it will keep me motivated and push harder ya know what i mean

yeah when i was driving up there with my buddy i saw a sign for hartford and i was like dude 25thmustang lives right by here, he was like what the *** are you talking about. lol

it was pretty funny and then i explained to him that you had one of the nicest foxes on stangnet and blah blah blah.

yes the 1/4 panels that surround the rear windows and extend to the hatch area. They are a PITA to ship so I pretty much have them in storage for that reason. Shipped out everything else I had for black interior

how would they work with a t top car, i heard that they will need to be cut by the b pillar and that there will be a gap. Is there anyway around this?

okay i thought that you could do it without i looking like crap, i really couldnt see them using entirely diff. panels for a t top stang. especially since they didnt make that many. Im def. interested man, but money is a prob right now.If your in a huge rush to sell them i will have to pass but if they are just sittin and your not in a rush i should b able to have the cash in a couple weeks. Ups hired me as a driver but i have been waiting for weeks to actually start the damn job, i went for my DOT physical and failed the vision test. I had to get new contacts and they are on backorder, so i cant start till i pass this damn physical. my luck is the worst and this really sux
