I just did an aode to t5 swap on my 94 mustang, i had bought a t4mo, tried it in my buddie's 95 gt and it worked just fine. but when i put it in mine it started acting up, check engine light would turn on/off, it started missing and just going nuts, i reinstalled my aode pcm and it went back to normal, i kept the aode harness and jumped the two wires for the shift selector, would that mess up the T4MO? Or why else would the pcm go wrong? is there anything i have to do to the main harness to make it work? or are both the t4mo and the aode pcm main harness the same? any help pls

the main harness(to engine and everything else)should be the same.
mabey the wiring at the tranny harness wrong

here's a link that may be helpful.

Ford Mustang: Mustang Tech: Transmission and Drivetrain: AODE to T5 Swap

scroll down to "electronics and wiring" to see how this guy did it.

-when i did the swap, the t5 computer pluged right in.no modifications were done to the wiring, but i used the t5 tranny wiring.

another question, does the new PCM need to complete a cycle in order for it to calibrate itself or do u guys think it's just dead?

never heard of that.
mine pluged right in and started right up.
double check the wiring you did at the aode wiring harness.
you can try the other way in the link i posted earlier and see if that works.

also i heard that static electricity can kill a PCM.

you can try installing the PCM in your buddies stang again and see if it operates normally.

if it does,go over your wiring again.

good luck

I reused the AODE harness. What wires did you jump?

Can you retrieve codes after the CEL goes on?

I only jumped the two wires from the mlps, the wht/pk and red/lb, just to bypass the safety switch, I left the back up lights alone bc Im waiting to get a connector for the trans, I have an ngs, hooked it up but it can't comunicate w/ the PCM, it communicates with the old one but not the new one
