NO.

I kid, I kid. Trick Flow and Edelbrock make good heads too... Just not as good as AFR!

Over thinking the shifter thing, shifting a t5 with a broomstick would be better than stock, a chinee unit with stops will likely work for everyday cruze'n around, start bang'n gears regular like and it will be a race to see which will eff up first, t5 or chinee cht, get the most bang for your buck,

I'm not a fan of buying Chinese junk, but for $40, I can't fault this shifter at all. It's tight, somewhat adjustable, feels solid, and looks to be made well. Installation was a breeze and everything lined up as it should. Is it as solid as my $250 Hurst shifter? Maybe not, but I can tell you I already see/ feel some wear in the Hurst and I don't even drive the car very often.

The cheap one, I installed in a 98 I use as a 2nd car/daily driver. It's not that nice of a car and I have to admit, I beat it like a rented mule. Been using this shifter for 5 or 6 months. Hasn't failed yet.
