Hey guys, I have yet another question for ya. Gettin sick of me yet? lol Anyway, what is the name of the spring that makes the shifter snap back into the middle? Mine will snap back from overdrive, but not 1 and 2. Also, how hard is it to replace this spring? Thanks

that is the problem.

get an aftermarket unit and you will be very happy. they cost a lot, but think of the cost per shift in a one year period. the stocker is like a wet noodle compared to aftermarket stuff. i know aftermarket stuff has springs in them, some of which can be replaced. i dont know about the stocker.

good luck.

the spring in a stock shifter is not replaceable, and even if it was its not worth doing. i'd check out UPR's shifter, it costs about $140

I prefer my B&M shorty S h i f t e r. I picked it up used for about $125, through a nice knob on it and never miss a shift. The stop bolts on the B&M keep you from breaking the shifter forks in the T-5 (which are crappy) and will save you tranny repair down the road. The shifter replacement will be a POSITIVE enhansement to your Mustang. Feels cool too!!!!!!!! A+
