Does anyone have a good diagram of the T5z tranni which labels all the parts.I'm trying to find the neutral safety switch, backuplight switch, the plug that fills it up and the drain plug and what's the black ball on top of the tranni for? Also what's the best way to add the fluid wnen the tranni is in place?
Thanx-Tom

Don't have a picture, but...

The Neutral Safety switch is at the top front. The reverse light switch is towards the rear of the main case on the driver's side (as mounted in the vehicle).

Don't know about a "black ball" on top, unless it is the vent.
The fill plug is also on the drivers side. It has a 3/8" square hole for your ratchet to fit in. The drain plug looks the same but is on the bottom.

To fill it up, (car level) remove the fill plug, get a hand pump for your quart bottle and pump in fluid until it just starts to come out. IIRC, just shy of 3 quarts. Put the fill plug back in.
Another way is to fill it on the bench before install. You will need a tail shaft plug, and you will spill a little when swapping in the drive shaft.

Good luck,

Scott

For me (T-5z), fill and drain plugs were on Passenger side. Reverse light switch is two threaded "screws" sticking out on driver's side, mid-tranny. Neutral safety switch should be a short harness at top, driver's side, above reverse switch. Black plug on top is mystery to me, too. I thought it might be a fill port, but didn't matter since Iwas not filling until installed. I used a hand pump from Pep Boys.

Fill is on passenger side

My mistake,

I've got the T5z as well. Forgot which way I had the car facing in the garage when I filled it.
The reverse light switch posts aren't threaded on mine. They looked like threads until I tryed a nut. On mine they are circular ribs to hold on the friction fit plug.
