Take off supercharger belt for the winter???

I know Vortech recommends not using the supercharger in the cold because of the tight tolerances which are used in the head unit, so I thought about taking off the belt this winter if I ever have to move the stang around for some reason.

I figured this would be fine since I'm 90% sure the oil return depends on gravity and not some pump being turned inside. Anyone think this a good idea?

Also I have driven the car with the vortech in previous winters with no problems, just figure this might extend the life of it a lil bit more and plus it takes 2 seonds to put on and take off.

Wouldnt it run extremely rich NA with 42's, run like crap because its tuned for a SC, and the fact the air still has to got through the SC even though its not spinning. Or do you mean completely bypassing it?

I've had my blower belt come off on the road, and it drove around perfect without it. It was just an idea to make the charger last a little longer.

I think this topic is retarded in my case since I been driving it around in the winter for the past 4 years with "zero" problems. I hardly even drive it anymore and what's another year of running the sc in the cold weather when i been doing it in the past with no problems. I think this is a good idea if someone lives in severe cold weather or just put their charger on and it's brand new.

I guess I just like to take care of my baby (mustang ) and try to do the best for it. Hell I even got my supercharger belt on torqued to about 50 ft-lbs because I know Rick 91GT put his heart and soul into the building of the shortblock...
