Not a really long trip, but around 4 hours or so... gonna go catch a concert.

I could either take the Mustang or my Jeep.

Lets list some pro's and con's.

Mustang:

Pro's... Definatly a better crusier than the Jeep, gets way better gas mileage, I imagine it would be easier to "shave" some time off the trip with...:D

Con's... Dunno whats up with my CEL, its been on and off, back on, and now off again. No cruise control, and alot smaller.

Jeep:

Pro's... Cruise control, alot of room, and its not that bad on longish trips, and its got the sound system.

Con's... It sucks gas like an alcoholic downs a free bottle of vodka. It tach's sort of high when you get to freeway speeds, almost 160k on it... but im not really worried about it. And last, but not least it stops about as well as a freight train.

What would you guys take? Both are on fresh oil changes... might change the diff fluid in the Stang if I take it.

Im kind of leaning towards the Mustang just for MPG and I havnt taken it on a long distance trip yet.

Well I was in your situation last week. I was going on a three hour trip and couldnt decide if I should take my 96 Mustang Gt or my 96 Nissan 200sx. Well I took the stang it got good gas mileage but my clutch cable started to go when I was down there and had to baby it home and it got all dirty:mad: So I wish I would have taken my Nissan. If that helps you any. I would probably go with what ever is most reliable.

You want to take the stanger. I went to key west from wisconsin and was debateing weather or not to take it and this was in the winter and im glad i took it.The car is like part of the family and you just dont leave family at home. Take it

Jeep was first car, and the Mustang, well is pretty much what ive wanted for a very long time.

Attached to both of them pretty well, haha.

As far as reliability... The Jeep has been very solid for a long time now, it was a little hard to tell when I first got it, cause it had some issues, but you wouldnt know it has 156k on it by the way it runs and drives now.

The Stang im still deciding on. So far its been good, but its also only been a few months. 96k on it.

Rent a car for $12 a day that gets 40 mpg :)

Why take a chance at parking where lots of people/cars will be. There's always that chance of getting door dings or keyed and so on

Yes it depends on which concert you're going to.

If it's like Kelly Clarkson, I'd take the mustang...
If it's like Ozzfest I'd def take the Jeep. (friend had her hood caved in at Ozzfest last year).

I drove mine on a 3 hour drive last month and got awesome gas mileage (almost 29 mpg!). I do have cruise control though...i didn't realize how much i'd enjoy having cruise control (keeps me from speeding for one), but can make the drive seem boring esp on a boring highway.

seems like 96 was a good year for u lol?

well once a friend and i went to a Ted Nugent/Deep Purple/Lynyrd Skynyrd concert in his Mustang...the ride down was great...then we caught a guy about to take a piss on our other friends Neon...thats when we realized it probably wasnt a good idea to have the 'Stang down there...too much opportunity for people who dont care or are too drunk to care to damage the car

Its a newer metal band, Trivium. They arent like 95% of the other newer metal bands out there, which suck. Dunno bout intoxication and whatnot, but its not a big venue. I gotta deal with the chance of people dinging my doors and whatnot everyday when I go anywhere...

Ah, and I took the Stang to a Ted Nugent concert, and all was well. One hell of a concert that was...:hail2: Uncle Ted puts on a fine show.
