Taking block to machine shop, what to ask for?

Where can I find replacement main caps? Are 302 main caps interchangeable?

If you replace the main caps with new caps or caps from another motor, you will definately want to align bore the mains. The original caps are mated to that block so they cam all be slightly different.

Alright, I went to the machine shop and they gave me an estimate of $550 for all the machine work, cam bearing install, freeze plug install, and block cleaning. I think its not bad, what do you guys think?

Also, when doing the line bore do I need to have new main bearings on there already or is it done without the main bearings? I need to know because Im taking it next friday.

Sounds about right... I just had an estimate for the same job and they quoted me $480.
